The Mission
"People seek out live music to feel something."
And I make sure they do. I've been delighting people with music since I was a kid.
Gruuve is a nickname that stuck, and for good reason. I bring unforgettably fun live music experiences to the St. Augustine / Jacksonville areas. As a multi-instrumentalist on guitar, bass, some keys, and a singer with a wide vocal range, my multiple musical acts and diverse range of songs ensures there's live entertainment to fit every audience's appetite. I make it a point to do all those songs that you love but haven't heard in years because no one else does them! And yes, it's a dirty job, but I'm just the guy to do it. :-P

Crafted to be a quieter and more intimate restaurant-friendly act with a very small footprint, this act has taken off since it's inception earlier this year. The current line-up has Gruuve on electric upright bass and vocals, plus a blues guitarist and skillful cajon player who makes that box drum sound like a tiny drumkit. You'll hear some unexpected surprises from popular songs redone as slow blues or similar. We know how to turn it down and mellow it out so you can have dinner conversations without shouting, but still enjoy the musical entertainment. UPDATE: After having several people ask for danceable songs at the venues we play, we've added some funk/motown/etc tunes to our repertoire. Gruuve's Whiskey Blues...good to the last drop!

What's the difference between a typical open mic night vs a GRUUVE-STOCK Music Showcase?
Typical open mic night: Some dude shows up with a crappy PA and an acoustic guitar, plays a few songs, then waits for other performers to show up and play. And you pay them for that.
GRUUVE-STOCK Music Showcase: Vetted performers with time slots already booked for the event show up and perform for you and your customers. You and I both already know how many people are coming and can plan accordingly. I bring professional PA gear and I make sure the performers sound fabulous. If you are looking for solo or duo acts to book, you get to audition acts that you might like. It's a win-win-win situation for all parties involved.

Note: Gruuve's Whiskey Blues is experiencing so much success that I don't have much time for solo gigs at the moment. However, if you have a cancellation and need someone on short notice, give me a shout and I'll do my best to accommodate your needs, or find you someone who can!
